STRESS!!!!!!!!!

If something else doesn't kill me, stress will!

I think I've had 24 hour stress since Friday when we had the maintenance go bad at work. We had the house closing that day but work stress and chastizing by a co-worker overshadowed that. I got home and we had 4 bags of wings to make for the IDPA luncheon on Saturday. I was up early on Saturday because Jon had his match but Jonnie was up before I felt I could get anything done. I felt horrible on Saturday because I drank a wee bit too much wine on Friday night. I fell asleep while Jonnie watched a movie. We went to a pool party on Saturday night and I was already nervous about helping Jonnie in the water but I did it anyhow and it went fairly well except for Jonnie kept going between the big pool and the kiddie pool. It was rather chilly so we finally ended up getting out of the pool for good because Jonnie was shivering. He and I sat down and ate some pizza & dessert while Jon socialized and got audit signatures.

We went to church on Sunday. Jon had to get the van worked on so he went his way while Jonnie and I went our way. We bought groceries at Kroger. Jon called before I could get in the house. I called him back to find out that Jon had to take the van on Monday for a complete brake job. Jon got home and we finally ate lunch. Jon watched Jonnie for a little over an hour so I could read some RFP bids for work. We watched the NASCAR Cup race. Jonnie fell asleep so I went out and weeded my front flower bed. I also transplanted a couple of bushes that I had planted on the side of the house because they were not doing well there. It looks pretty good. Jon was working on IDPA scores so I ended up making dinner. He spent the whole night working on scores. I had 450 printed newsletters that were due to the church by Tuesday and needed to be folded. I started folding them by hand before Jon finally started folding them with the machine. The folding machine & I are not friends so I was preparing for a late night of folding newsletters until Jon finally stepped in.

Work was considerably busy yesterday. Jonnie and I met Jon for dinner. I dropped Jon off so he could get the van but it was not done so we went home. Jon finally got home after 9 PM but with brand new brakes completely for free. He has to take the van back tomorrow because the mechanic stripped a lug and they need to replace it and have not been able to get the right lug yet.

Today at work has been horrible! Clients are angry because we've done a lot of maintenance and then we lost a lambda of our dark fiber ring. Thankfully, that finally cleared up before lunch. I hope to take a break in a little bit to go for a walk to help rejuvinate. I have to pick Jonnie up from school again today because Jon has class. Since we did not make it to Holy Day mass night (the church was full with no parking since we were late), Jonnie and I are going to try and go tonight. I pray that Jonnie behaves!

I need to try and get things packed for a trip we're taking this weekend. We're heading back to Leetonia on Friday night. Jon has a shooting match on Saturday while Jonnie & I are going to Jon's cousin Michael's wedding & reception. I'm a bit nervous about controlling Jonnie at the wedding. If he's too bad, I might ask Jon's Dad if he can take Jonnie and I back to his house before the reception since there are several hours between each. I have a gift for Michael & Jessica that is ready to go so I can give it to Jon's Dad & Elaine to take the reception if I need to.

Did I post that I got my center cap back for my car? Apparently NTB still had it and Jon asked about it when he was there on Sunday. I fixed my windshield wipers by filling up the fluid which was completely empty!

I'd better get back to work so that I can take my walk after my lunch finishes settling!

SOLD!

Jon and I signed the paperwork at 12 noon today and our house is SOLD. The woman from the title agency was going from our meeting to the closing with all of the checks, signed papers, as well as the keys & garage door openers for the other house.

I should be happier than I am but the day has not been going so well. We had a network maintenance go wrong early this morning and one of my co-workers has been chewing my butt out all day about it although I had nothing to do with the work that was done. Regardless, I need to rework our entire contact infrastructure because of her by the end of next week. On top of all that, I have to go to a pool party tomorrow night and I have to take work home with me because I have 4 bids that I have to read over the weekend because we have to have a decision made on the RFP sometime next week.

Anyhow, the good news is that the house is SOLD!

We're closing on Friday!

Jon called me with good news today. He received a call from the title company and the people who made the offer on our old house want to close on Friday. We're meeting with the woman from the title company on Friday over lunch. She is running the paperwork between us and the buyers so we never will meet the buyers face to face. Jon is scrambling to get the lawn mower in the garage out and replaced by Friday because a lawn mower was part of the deal. I'm trying to not be too excited until I sign on the bottom line and we're officially closed. I'll be putting a bottle of wine in the frig on Friday morning so we can celebrate that night if everything goes off as currently planned.

I faltered a little on the diet front today. I had a piece of cake this afternoon as my afternoon snack. It looked good and it was good. I opted not to make breadsticks with dinner tonight and I did not eat my snack that I brought with me so I did not spend too many points. I also walked today and I must say bringing a change of clothing to walk in and changing back into my work clothes is much better than feeling sticky all afternoon. I even brought deodorant so I can make sure I don't smell bad after my walk!

I'd better sign off for now and get back to work. Have a great day!

I'm back!

I'm finally back to the blog after taking a few days off. On Friday & Monday, I ran errands and went to appointments. On Saturday & Sunday, we were in Leetonia for the 2nd Annual Italian Fest which was awesome! We had lots of tasty food and good drink; I had a little too much good drink and ended up taking a 2 hour nap late Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, I stocked up at Sam's club again. Do you know how awkward a 45-roll box of toilet paper is to carry? It's not heavy, just awkward. There were diapers, wipes, fruit snacks, iced tea bags, cat food & litter. I'm lucky that my car was not dragging the ground again!

On Monday, I had a follow-up with my doctor regarding my anti-depressant therapy. I'm going to switch from Lexapro to a new medicine that begins with a "C"; I cannot remember the name off hand. It's very similiar but the new medicine costs only $10 for a 90 day supply instead of $60. I also got a new script to be cast for new orthotic inserts. I hope to see our friend Erich who made my orignals 10 years ago so he can cast my new ones. I had car maintenance done and it's starting to be that I get a list of things I need to do after I finish completing one list of things for my car. Yesterday was a oil change, tire rotation & balance. Did you know that balacing is a separate charge from rotation? That's annoying. In a few weeks, I need to go back and have my corroded battery contacts cleaned and have my brakes bled because my brake fluid is dirty. Lovely.

Dieting and exercise has been fun. So far, I've been doing well since we got back home. Jon's trying but he still needs to get used to some things. He's struggling with salami & pepperoni not being as healthy as lean ham or turkey. I made him a salami sandwich yesterday but he only got 2 slices of salami. We had a debate at dinner last night over the slathering of tartar sauce he put all over his healthy sauteed fish and then the hunk of pepperoni and peanut butter toast he ate after dinner! I've walked for 30-40 minutes for the past 2 days and I am going to be taking a walk here shortly at the walking track near my office.

I'd better eat my peach so that I can let my lunch settle before I take my walk. I had lean turkey and light swiss on rye with a peach for lunch.

Have a great day!

Jon's not diseased; he's just FAT!!!!!!!

The big doctor's appointment was this morning at 7 AM. After 2 and a half hours of waiting for Jon to call me, I finally called him at his office. Oops, he forgot to call me.

The last set of blood tests came back with normal iron levels so the diagnosis of hemochromatosis was incorrect. The new diagnosis for my husband's blood pressure issues is excessive weight gain. The doctor has told Jon he needs to lose at least 20 pounds and that he needs to exercise. I have encouraged Jon to join the Weight Watchers Online program with me. I might just sign him up.

I think that I will still continue trying to spread awareness about hemochromatosis but I will change my letter to reflect that my husband's diagnosis changed. We'll see how that goes.

I feel a sense of relief right now although I'm irritated that I worried about this since the 17th.

Have a great day!
