Early Christms Present

Since I know nothing about air compressors and almost 80 pounds is way over my medical lifting restrictions, we went out on Saturday to get my husband his big Christmas present, a 26 gallon air compressor. I have been told now that he has this, he will fill my tires with air anytime, day or night!

In this photo, our son Jon III decided he would help my husband get this big boy toy put together.

My husband will shoot me when he finds out I've posted this on Blogger and Facebook but I really like our Christmas tree. I think it's pretty. He's embarrassed because it's only 7 feet tall. Our tree last year was 15 feet tall. I think this tree is greener and has shed less than any of our other trees!

I want to wish everyone reading my blog a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Latest med updates

It's been a while since my last post here on my blog. I admit that I've been spending more time over on Facebook.

I had abdominal and liver MRIs which were normal. I had ultrasounds on my left side and those were normal. I had blood drawn for autoimmune testing and the test revealed elevated CRP levels which confirm an inflammation. Unfortunately, the location of the inflammation is not known. I had a brain MRI and that was normal. I was in the ER after my left side pain began to move into my chest. I had a complete cardio work up including a stress test and all of those tests checked out okay.

The doctor's office called today and the Cleveland Clinic is working on my pre-authorization with my insurance company. That should be done early next week and then I can proceed with scheduling my time there.

Thanksgiving was good but it seemed to go so quickly. It took me 3 hours to drive to my parents house in Ashland because of the weather. The roads were fine until I got to Mansfield. I-71 had been shut down to one lane because of an accident so I jumped off on the exit for route 30 and then got on 42 and took that into town. The roads in Ashland were awful and I slid through an intersection; my guardian angel was with me as no one else was around. I felt lousy Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with increased left side pain, headaches, and a fever just under 100. Mom and I made dinner on Thursday which everyone my Dad really enjoyed since he loves turkey. On Saturday, I felt really good so I went out for some errands. I got the fixings for a steak dinner which made my Mom extremely happy. She enjoyed the steak which I cooked a "perfect medium rare" and the Rainier Ridge Chardonnay. I went to the Home Depot and bought a new latch for the bathroom door since I broke the one that had been on there. I bought a metal one which was larger than the plastic one Dad had on there. Helping my Dad fix the door was an adventure as I forgot what it's like to do work without power tools since Jon has pretty much everything under the sun. Hand saw, hammer, and screw driver were challenging but the door was fixed.

Plain City has an annual "Christmas Under the Clock" event that we might try to attend this year. We'll have to see how timing works out since it will be competing with the 12-episode "Hannah Montana" Marathon that the Disney Channel is running. If I feel up to it, maybe I'll walk downtown for the tree lighting myself while the guys ogle "Hannah".

I hope everyone has a productive Friday and a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow will be my first day back at work since Tuesday.
